MOBILE (CELLULAR) REPEATERS
GML Electronics are experts in the design and installation of all types of LEGAL 'Cell Repeaters'. We use RF planning tools and the National Site DataBase to ensure they will work
at your location
These systems broadly fall into 3 types only one is an actual repeater other are enhancements or alternatives
It is important to understand that "repeaters"" are ILLEGAL in Australia and easy for the Carrier to locate. You will be noticed and you will be found
The 3 workable options legally available to users are:
Option 1 Is the least expensive it is generally used to extend the range of mobile in cars and help to remove blackspots. The equipment sits in the vehicle with an external antenna it provides
a small network which the mobile devices can connect to. It is not a high speed data system and is intended for mobile phone coverage. It will support slower speed data. The unit incurs a monthly
cost from the Carrier to which it connects. Only one is required for all devices, regardless of their provider.
This has proved effective for blackspot filling but relies of there being coverage in or near the adjacent areas.
Option 2 This is a legal Mobile Cellular repeater. Although you own it the Carrier has control over it. These are only effective in adjacent or weak signal areas. They can provide
slow speed data. The unit has an indoor and outdoor part which can be used to provide IBC (In Building Coverage) as well as work as a 'car kit'. The initial outlay is $1,000 - $2,000 there
are no ongoing monthly costs. These units are authorised and can only be purchased from a licensed distributor.
GML has used these unit, with success, in rural farm areas as well as city black spots that have no usable signal. We can provide units and build antennas suitable for the requirements
Option 3 The "work everywhere" satellite solution. This service works most places on the planet. Your Carrier can stop it. These are effective everywhere. They also provide high speed data,
but not unlimited quantity. The unit, of course, must have a view to the sky and can be used to provide IBC (In Building Coverage) as well as work as a 'car kit'. The initial outlay is several
hundred dollars' with ongoing monthly costs. They are a work anywhere device, your mobile devices require a small set up change to allow normal cellular access and satellite backup.
Be warned many providers, including us, are employed to find illegal repeaters by various carriers. They are noticed because of the routine mobile site performance collection data.
